Moon is marked by an average city which leads the western world in terms of finance and trading. China and Russia don’t push beyond lunar orbit, but instead focus on Earth neighborhood. Oceanic alliance gathers Japan, North America and United Kingdom. A war can be led to take back France from the West, creating a new incarnation of the Plantagenet Empire.

Earth-centered strategy is Telluric powers’ new doctrine, with an emphasis on Earth’s near orbit. Oceanic powers’ share is the Moon, the asteroids and deeper space colonies like Mars. China lost its western parts in a great Eurasian war, Siberia gained independance in partnership with Korea and islamism withdrew from many parts of Africa, Europe and even Middle East to find shelter in the dry mountains of central Asia, in a new turkish-speaking imperial state.

Mars is a western (a.k.a. Oceanic) alliance colony. The Alliance’s sign is a compass, from Alaska to Mexico and from Japan to British Isles. Rocky Mountains as a backbone, UK and Japan as sentinel carriers cruising Atlantic and Pacific, watchdogs of the western hemisphere.

Homo Sapiens is no longer. It evolved into a highly mentally disturbed monkey variety, which browses cyberspace faster than light. The 2020s global war exterminated older generations, leaving youger people rebuild folk and traditions from scratch under the shadows of radioactive and biological fallout. Cyberspace survived, as their creators, a century ago, predicted. Telepathy now exists thanks to wireless technology and man-machine interface, but still, people don’t understand each other. It seems like the huge variety of human and verbal experience makes divergence ineluctable.

Sects and other organizations fed by conspiracy theories, themselves generated by chaos, massively died in World War Three at the gates of 2030. Few of them survived, but doctrines emerged under the form of totalitarian states in the post-war world, like Symbiotism, a radical form of ecology which preaches population reduction and its footprint reduction by force and mass surveillance. On the other hand, Promotheans want to XLR8 human progress and Earth decay, to push us to the stars.

They are said mad.
